BonAlive® bioactive glass granules are classified as synthetic bone substitutes. The basic components of bioactive glasses are the same, but their quantity, shape and granule size determine the differences between the types of products and make them different, as is the case of BonAlive®.
Bioactive glasses are known to increase the activity of osteoblasts, which produce new bone, while the bioactive glass is reabsorbed . This process is mediated by SiO2-gel layer and ions.
Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral found inl bone, but when used as a bone filling, it does not participate in bone formation and functions solely as material for filling cavities. This is a great difference in the use of BonAlive®.
BonAlive® has over 15 years of clinical history, with proven performance and safety in many specialties.
